dr Justyna Orłowska
I`m an archaeologist, prehistorian, working mostly on worked bone materials. I specialise in the technological and functional aspects of prehistoric objects made of bone and antler. Currently, I am focusing on the diversity and variability of osseous hunting equipment in the Late Pleistocene and early Holocene in Poland from the morphological, technological and functional perspective, which is the focus of this project website.
I`m a member of the Priority team of the Nicolaus Copernicus University supported under the „Excellence Initiative ¬ Research University” (IDUB) in the years 2020-2022.
Team name – Team for Traceology and Residue studies; leader – dr hab. Grzegorz Osipowicz, prof. UMK.
In 2021 I have co-organized the „International Camp of Experimental Archeology”, Toruń 2021, held on August 16-28, 2021. Site of the event: www.exarchcamp.umk.pl
I`m a member of such organizations and scientific societies as The Association of Archaeological Wear and Residue Analysts (AWRANA); The Worked Bone Research Group (WBRG); The European Association of Archaeologists (EAA); EXARC.
I`m a co-editor of the online Newsletter published since 2018: „Experimental Archeology at Nicolaus Copernicus University”. The newsletter is available on portals such as www.academia.edu and www.researchgate.net.
